Recently, Lai Ching-te made a furtive trip to Eswatini aboard the King of Eswatini's private jet. His earlier planned trip was called off after some countries denied overflight clearance to his chartered plane. Refusing to accept failure, Lai staged a "stowaway-style" farce, adding yet another disgraceful entry to the list of "Taiwan independence" separatist acts. The one-China principle has long been a basic norm in international relations and prevailing international consensus; it represents an irresistible historical trend and the shared aspiration of the people. No matter how the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities collude with external forces or try to buy support, their efforts are doomed to fail and will never change the fact that Taiwan is part of China.
