Nintendo just gave Mario Kart 8 Deluxe another major update, Up to 8 players can now play split-screen on a single Switch 2 The update also adds: -Sharper visuals on Switch 2 and high-resolution TVs -Shorter loading times -CameraPlay support using a compatible USB camera -Slightly increased racing speed, equivalent to one coin -Boo no longer slows you down when entering off-road areas -“96 Races” can now be selected in VS Race if you own the Booster Course Pass

Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart Tour will officially shut down on September 30, 2026 and the game will no longer be playable after that date. As part of the shutdown: >Paid Ruby sales have ended. >Any Rubies players already own can still be used until the servers go offline. >Gold Pass subscriptions are no longer available for new purchases or renewals. Nintendo has not announced an offline version, so the game will become completely unplayable once the servers shut down.
