Officer Austin Zade Abdelnabi was laid to rest Saturday in Greer, South Carolina, surrounded by family, friends, fellow Marines, law enforcement officers, and a community that came together to honor his life and sacrifice. The support shown to the Abdelnabi family and the LVMPD family throughout this difficult journey has been extraordinary. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Troopers Association Caisson Unit, the many law enforcement agencies, organizations, businesses, and South Carolina community partners who helped make Officer Abdelnabi’s funeral possible. Members of the LVMPD Honor Guard also traveled to South Carolina to stand alongside Officer Abdelnabi’s family and assist in honoring our fallen brother. To everyone who donated, volunteered, stood along the procession route, offered prayers, or simply showed up, thank you. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten. Officer Austin Zade Abdelnabi made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our community. He will forever be remembered, forever honored, and forever part of the LVMPD family💙

The President said that the world of technology, media, economics and public policy is changing rapidly. She advised officers to be judicious in their decisions, compassionate in their conduct and unwavering in upholding integrity. The President underlined that the authority entrusted to them carries with it a profound responsibility to serve the people with fairness, humility and dedication.
