More publishers have been found skipping Xbox’s new Disc-to-Digital feature, including Ubisoft, Sega, Square Enix and Bandai Namco. This means major games such as Elden Ring and various Final Fantasy titles currently can’t be converted from physical discs into digital licenses. It’s a bit concerning for the feature’s preservation potential, Microsoft has already shown that the system can bring some delisted games back into digital libraries, but its usefulness depends heavily on publishers opting in. The good news is that Disc-to-Digital is still in beta, so these publishers could potentially join later.
