RAGE:MP, one of the longest-running GTA V multiplayer platforms, has announced it will shut down after receiving a cease-and-desist from Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games.
In a statement, the developers said Rockstar now considers FiveM the only authorized multiplayer platform for GTA V. As a result, RAGE:MP will stop operating completely on August 31, 2026.
The shutdown will happen in stages:
- New servers are no longer being accepted
- The public server list will close on June 1, 2026
- All remaining services and infrastructure will shut down on August 31, 2026
The team encouraged existing communities to move to FiveM.
RAGE:MP had been around for years and was one of FiveM’s biggest competitors
This also shows how much control Rockstar and Take-Two are now exerting over the GTA multiplayer modding scene after acquiring the FiveM team in 2023.
