VIDEO | On Rath Yatra deaths, BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty (@DrLeninMohanty1) says, "The Yatra which was held two days back, a stampede occurred because of the officials' mismanagement. They were unable to think, they were unable to plan, and the political force which should guide them, that was not functional. And the result was, three precious lives were lost, more than 300 people got injured. And the situation was such that there was chaos and anarchy at that particular place. The cordon pass which was scheduled to be given to few persons was given to more than three times the people to which, they should have been given. And the result was people died. But unfortunately, the health minister and the law minister took a stand in contradictory to the actual situation. The health minister came forward and told there was no such stampede which had happened, which is wrong. Yesterday, when the post-mortem came out regarding the death of two people, it was clear that their death was because of suffocation in a stampede which has resulted in that particular thing. Now the thing has been exposed. So it is turn of the government to order an inquiry, a judicial inquiry, where the real culprits should be punished. And also, the Law Minister and the Health Minister, they should resign... When this government for three consecutive years is unable to manage a Yatra, how can it manage the state? And that is reflecting in the exact position, they are talking about Lakshmi Puran when the live Lakshmis are being threatened, are being misbehaved, are being targeted, are being robbed. But they are talking about books because they want profit from that. And in the process, the Rath Yatra cult, the cult of Lord Jagannath is being diluted because of this inefficient officers and politicians who are taking decisions now. They are only going for meetings which is fruitless and we expect, a judicial inquiry would prove the right and the wrong and ultimately at least the next year such things shouldn't should not happen." #RathYatra#
