Capcom is reviewing difficulty in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Director Takuro Hiraoka said Wilds was made more accessible for newer players after many dropped Monster Hunter: World before finishing the story because difficulty ramped up too quickly. Capcom did not expect Wilds players to get this good. “We had a bit of a gap in expectations. Maybe players got better than we expected,” Hiraoka said. For Ascendance, Capcom wants the main story to stay accessible while making the endgame much tougher for players who want a serious challenge. “We expect that if you purchase the DLC, you’re going to want to see as much of the story that we’ve presented as possible.” The really difficult content will be pushed into the endgame.
