Square Enix is now sounding very confident about Kingdom Hearts IV releasing in 2027. Tetsuya Nomura made a surprise appearance during the Kingdom Hearts D23 panel “It will definitely not be delayed from 2027.” Director Tai Yasue then backed him up, saying: “Absolutely no delay. 100%.” Nomura also talked about the newly announced Kingdom Hearts animated series, confirming that he is “quite heavily involved” with the project.

Disney has officially announced a new Kingdom Hearts animated series for Disney+ and Disney Channel. The project will be an original anime series, developed in partnership with series creator Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix. Disney says the show will have a brand-new story that expands the Kingdom Hearts universe while bringing back the characters fans know.
