The Coalition says it is proud Gears of War: E-Day is staying an Xbox exclusive. Creative director Matt Searcy told Destin Lergarie the team feels “proud to be one of Xbox’s main titles.” “It’s part of Xbox’s DNA,” he said. E-Day is on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Early access started October 1, with the full launch on October 6. Gears of War: Reloaded came to PS5 in August 2025, and leaked listings had fueled an E-Day PS5 rumor. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma shut that down at the 2026 showcase, and Xbox later said the platform choice was not a last-minute cut. Searcy said the team still put the game first. Being the title Xbox pointed to on its return to exclusives was the part that landed after.
