White Supremacy's New Map: How Tennessee Legally Lynched Black Political Power The insidious nature of modern racism lies in how it uses democratic processes to quietly neutralize Black political power without leaving explicit racial language on the page. By framing the destruction of the historic Memphis district as "neutral" partisan line-drawing, the state legislature successfully dismantles Black political capital while maintaining a veneer of procedural fairness. It creates a system where Black candidates face the illusion of inclusion: • Completely free to run • Completely free to raise money • Completely free to speak out Yet, they are trapped within structurally rigged boundaries that mathematically guarantee their defeat. This tactical erasure turns voting from a tool of empowerment into a decorative ritual, allowing a white majority to permanently outvote Black communities and legally suppress their representation while maintaining plausible deniability.

Republicans removed every Democrat and every Black member in the Tennessee State House from their committee assignments for standing up to their partisan gerrymandering. How are we all not descending upon Tennessee right now and demanding this fuckery ends?
