Tether-backed Oobit plugs USDT into Brazil's PIX and its 170 million users
@oobit has wired Brazil's PIX payment network into its app, letting users move between the real and solana:Es9vMFrzaCERmJfrF4H2FYD4KCoNkY11McCe8BenwNYB in seconds. Deposit reais, receive Tether, and pay anyone on PIX, the instant-payment system that reaches around 170 million Brazilians.
The
@tether backed app is leaning into a market that already runs on stablecoins. Most of Brazil's PIX-to-crypto volume already flows into dollar-pegged coins, where locals park savings against a wobbly Real.
It is not the only one chasing that demand. Brazil's central bank opened PIX rails to base:0x833589fcd6edb6e08f4c7c32d4f71b54bda02913 earlier this year, and Circle is pushing dollar tokens in the region with Nubank. Oobit's edge is folding it all into one tap-to-pay app.
