Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress has expelled several senior leaders from the party after they joined Ritabrata Banerjee-led rebel faction and participating in the formation of a parallel organisational committee. The expelled leaders include Firhad Hakim, Aroop Biswas, Arup Roy, Javed Khan, Rathin Ghosh, Biplab Mitra, Snehasis Chakraborty and Sabina Yasmin.

Enforcement Directorate is conducting raids in connection with the bank accounts of the Trinamool Congress. According to sources, the ED is probing the money trail linked to funds deposited in the party’s bank accounts. ED has recently registered the ECIR. Earlier, one of the TMC’s bank accounts was frozen after the bank received a letter from the Ritabrata faction claiming authority over the account.

Former Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya resigns from the post of state president of Trinamool Congress. She also resigns from all posts in the party & withdraws from authorised signatory in various bank accounts and the election committee.
