Warcraft III: Legacy is back on the Battlenet app. If you own Warcraft III: Reforged, you can now play the old classic version. It is the same as the game before Reforged came out. To get it, open the Battlenet app. Go to your Warcraft III page. Find the Game Version menu at the bottom left, above the Play button. Select Warcraft III - Legacy TFT 1.29. It will download about 6.25 GB. Right now, you can only play it offline or with friends on the same local network. Online play on Battlenet is not ready yet. This is great for the original story campaigns and old custom maps that work best on this version.

Blizzard’s World of Warcraft: Forever beta is suffering from success, It has become so popular that Blizzard has had to raise the population cap again. WoW executive producer confirmed the latest increase, saying: “We had to increase the WoW: Forever Beta population cap again. The wild ride continues.” This follows server problems at launch. Senior game designer Josh Greenfield said he was seeing “the craziest numbers I’ve seen in 17 years working at Blizzard.” The beta reportedly costs at least $59.99 to access, yet players keep piling in. Blizzard originally described WoW: Forever as an edition aimed at “the millions of people who have had their accounts lapse” in Classic. Whatever Blizzard is doing with this version of WoW, it seems to be attracting far more players than the servers were prepared for.

World of Warcraft: Forever is dropping support for some older NVIDIA GPUs. The GTX 760, GTX 770, and GTX 780 are no longer supported because the game’s updated graphics require a feature these older Kepler GPUs lack. Ironically, the HD 7850 is still below official minimum specs but passes Blizzard’s basic hardware compatibility cutoff.

World of Warcraft players are reporting a very strange bug following the game’s 12.1 update. Normally, when someone disconnects during combat, their character becomes unresponsive and eventually disappears. But some players are now seeing disconnected characters continue moving and fighting on their own. >In one reported case, an Evoker disconnected during a fight but then continued attacking. >Another player said his brother’s Warrior disconnected and, around 30 seconds later, the character charged into the boss and started attacking again. Some people said that Blizzard may be testing a new disconnect protection system that uses AI-controlled character tech to keep a player active after losing connection.
