Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Veronica will make some changes to its story to better fit the overall Resident Evil timeline. Speaking to Famitsu, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said the remake will keep the main events of the original game, but some scenes and story details will be updated to connect better with the modern Resident Evil remakes. Capcom also said that Veronica is an important part of the series and its place in the timeline will not change. The game still takes place three months after Resident Evil 2.
