India delivers a sharp rebuttal at the UN, rejecting Special Rapporteur Gina Romero’s claims about young Indians facing retaliation for discussing mental health or gender justice. Diplomat Anuj Swarup calls the allegations “hearsay dressed up as a UN report,” saying anonymous, unverified submissions cannot justify sweeping conclusions about 1.4 billion people. He also points to the report’s own acknowledgment of a youth-led satirical political movement: young Indians questioned the government, marched in the capital and met senior national leaders. His message is that such reporting is the reason the UN has lost credibility. #IndiaAtUN# #GinaRomero# #AnujSwarup# #UNGA# #YouthRights#
