Over 4,000 young Americans are alive today who might not be — because of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline we built together. The grief of losing a child is something that no parent should ever have to know. We launched 988 in 2022. We invested in it. We fought for it. And now the data is in: an 11% drop in youth suicide. Thousands of kids who picked up the phone instead of giving up. In my view, that’s what government is supposed to do.

It is a great honor for me to have been nominated today as Germany’s Delegate within the German Chess Federation and to represent our country at the FIDE elections. 🇩🇪 Together with the new leadership of the German Chess Federation, we will represent Germany with strength, unity, and international visibility. Germany must serve as a model of structure, professionalism, and sustainable development in chess - while also helping other federations build strong structures and long-term perspectives for the future. Germany possesses one of the strongest school chess systems in the world, outstanding coaches, excellent tournament organization, and an infrastructure that sets international standards. With such strength also comes responsibility. Our goal must be to take a leading role in international chess - not only through sporting achievements, but also through organization, education, youth development, and international cooperation. We want to use Germany’s more than 150 years of chess tradition and experience to further develop chess worldwide, create new momentum, and actively help shape the future of our sport together with other nations and continents. NEWS: SpaceX, Tractor Supply and the National 4-H Council announced a partnership today to expand Starlink rural broadband access across the US. SpaceX will provide 100 Starlink kits and service to designated 4-H clubs serving rural youth. Every Starlink kit purchased at Tractor Supply stores or TractorSupplycom will generate a donation to the National 4-H Council. SpaceX will donate the value of the customer's first month of service. Tractor Supply will donate $500,000 to the National 4-H Council to launch the initiative. The announcement was made at the Great American State Fair. US Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins attended alongside Tractor Supply CEO Hal Lawton, National 4-H Council CEO Jill Bramble and SpaceX VP of Satellite Policy David Goldman. Tractor Supply operates 2,435 stores in 49 states. The chain has raised over $27 million for 4-H since 2010 through its Paper Clover fundraiser. According to the FCC, 22.3% of rural Americans lack standard broadband coverage compared to 1.5% in urban areas.
