Blockchain was valued at $14B in 2022 before a later funding round cut that valuation by more than half. The company could opt for a smaller raise if needed, and terms may still change. Block joined the x402 Foundation on Sep 24 and put Bitcoin Lightning on the protocol. Its Spiral lead: "Agents will make billions of small payments, and those payments need rails that are instant, low-cost, and open to anyone." x402's own 30-day tally: 75.41 million transactions, $24.24 million. About 32 cents each. Billions of tiny payments in dollars an agent can't eat. What it eats is inference. $ FLOP is being built to redeem for that, so the small payment and the meal are the same.

Blockchain Association CEO @SummerMersinger will step down on October 16, while remaining as an advisor through the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.
