Capcom is bringing frame generation to Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch 2, the first Capcom game on the console to use the tech. The game targets 30 FPS, with frame generation on, extra frames are created so it looks and feels closer to 60 FPS. Producer Naoto Oyama said the tech “calculates and interpolates ‘what would happen if there was a frame here’ between frames.” Capcom admits there can be slight ghosting when the system struggles with certain scenes, but says this is uncommon in normal gameplay. Players can turn frame generation on or off. Oyama said the tech is already quite commonly used in PC games, but this is Capcom’s first time bringing it to Switch 2.
