Richardson Noel, 43, a black worker from Broward County, faces an aggravated animal cruelty charge in Sanford, Florida. Police say he was inside a white family’s home for ElDante HVAC Services LLC on Aug. 24 when a Furbo camera recorded 12-year-old Boomer, a roughly 5-pound Chihuahua, barking at him. Investigators say Noel walked at the dog and kicked him in the head with a work boot. The clip shows the tiny dog sliding across the floor and going limp. Owner Ryan Menzies was at work when his girlfriend sent the feed. “I was standing in the parking garage at work, and I said out loud, ‘Oh, my God,’ and almost started crying,” he told WESH. “And then anger took over, because I knew I had to get home.” He also said, “He gave a 100-pound kick to an animal that’s 5 pounds.” Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith called it what it is. “It is deeply disturbing that someone entrusted with entering a person’s home to complete a service would violate that trust by viciously injuring a defenseless animal.” Smith added, “The video is difficult to watch and shows the callousness of this individual.” Boomer had no broken bones.
