MPs accuse Rockstar of blocking legal steps in fight over union firings
Scottish Labour MPs have criticised Rockstar Games over the legal fight about the firing of around 30 UK staff last October.
The union claims the sackings were union-busting. Rockstar says the workers were fired for sharing secret game information in a private Discord server.
MPs Chris Murray, Tracy Gilbert, and Dr Scott Arthur say Rockstar is not cooperating well. The company failed to give full information, hid evidence, and did not allow a proper appeal.
Chris Murray said: “Constituents have lost their jobs and income, with one even forced to leave the country due to the removal of their visa sponsor.” He called on Rockstar to “answer this case with transparency and full cooperation and uphold the right to appeal.”
Tracy Gilbert said it was “extremely disappointing” that Rockstar “refused to properly engage with staff, representatives and trade unions.” She added: “Workers asking for fairness, transparency and respect should not be met with silence and closed doors.”
Dr Scott Arthur said his constituent is concerned that the company has “not cooperated fully or transparently.”
