Meccha Chameleon reached 15 million copies sold in about 26 days after its launch
It previously hit 10 million copies in just 16 days
The developers thanked players for the incredible support and confirmed that a collaboration with a famous Japanese star will be revealed in about a week.
Meccha Chameleon has already sold over 3 million copies on Steam.
What’s crazy is that it was made by a solo dev in about five months.
The game went from launch to 3 million sales in roughly a week, meanwhile AAA games spending years, millions, and thousands of employees to make a flop.
The developer of Meccha Chameleon has warned players about fake social media accounts.
Only the accounts lemorion1224 and haganeiro_fn are official. Any other accounts pretending to represent the game or the developer are fake.
The official Discord server is the one listed on the Steam page. Do not trust links or messages from unknown accounts.
The indie game Meccha Chameleon has sold more than 5 million copies in just 10 days after launching on Steam.
Players use tools to hide by painting themselves to match the background.
The game also reached a peak of more than 240,000 concurrent players and has received over 10,000 reviews with a Very Positive rating.
Indie game Meccha Chameleon has reached more than 130,000 players at the same time on Steam and sold 1 million copies in just four days.
The game has a simple idea: players hide by painting themselves to match the background.
Many AAA games wish to reach these numbers of a small indie game.
THIS COULD BE THE NEXT $100B GAME
Meccha Chameleon showed that people love turning 3D creation into gameplay.
Now imagine a platform where millions of players create worlds, objects, and characters - without ever opening Blender.
- Roblox built a multi-billion dollar creator economy around simple tools
- Blender has millions of users but a steep learning curve
- Games could become the easiest way to enter 3D creation
- User-generated 3D worlds could become the next massive digital economy
The next billion-dollar platform might not sell games. It might let players create them.
The developers shared a new update on the MECCHA CHAMELEON malware incident.
According to the team, the game itself was never infected.m, the breach was limited to a system engineer’s test PC, compromised while investigating a malicious mod map.
The attacker bypassed the engineer’s Discord 2FA, took control of the official Discord server, and removed the development team.
- The infected PC was a spare testing machine with no access to the game’s source files.
- Internal logs confirmed the game files were never accessed or modified.
- The compromised PC has been completely wiped and reformatted.
The team warns players not to trust the current Discord server, as the attacker may continue posting fake announcements.
