ACP Minnesota(@ACP_Minnesota):This Tuesday ACP MN came out to show support to the nurses strike in Duluth, MN. During our picket we had several conversations with nurses. Its not just the pay and the uncertainty; training is not preparing new nurses for the field or creating the conditions for retention. Nurses do the painstaking work of caring for their patients when others don't, often taking care of 10 or more people at a time. Such frequent overextension in a field where care is often a question of life or death is not a sustainable strategy. Despite numerous offers presented by the Minnesota Nurses Association, a settlement is yet to be reached and the appeals for structural change remain unanswered.
