July 1952. Multiple radar systems at Washington National Airport and Andrews Air Force Base lit up with UFO's darting over the White House and U.S. Capitol. Commercial pilots and scrambled jets reported bright white and orange orbs that hovered, then accelerated at impossible speeds. One pilot who gave chase said: "I saw several bright lights. I was at maximum speed, but even then I had no closing speed. I ceased chasing them because I saw no chance of overtaking them." Controllers watching both on radar and out the tower window described the same thing - objects that stopped mid air, reversed direction instantly, and vanished.
