Villains. All of them. This is hardly limited to the way-out-there liberals in the States. I have a ton of liberal friends - they are ALL aware the crazy lunatics have sway they never had before in the Parties & the movements. This is truly gross.

In #LdnOnt#, we know all too well the devastating impact Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate can have on a community. As we approach the 5 year anniversary of the murder of #OurLondonFamily#, our hearts are with the victims, families, and broader community in San Diego following today’s tragic attack at a mosque. From London 🇨🇦 to San Diego, hate has no place. We stand united against Islamophobia and all forms of hate directed at people because of their faith. Our residents can expect to see an increased police presence around places of worship and in parts of our community as a visible measure of reassurance, safety, and support.

All over it tomorrow. First show since Friday.
No Canadian media has touched this, of course.
@TPSMyronDemkiw Parking Control offers should have been called in to aid in the search, not tag people trying to aid in the area the search was happening. They have training and communications to assist in finding the girl.

Friend of mine who covers the news scene in Chicago - Evanston, to be specific...he saw the Toronto cops story w/ the ugly allegations of sexual assault/assault & the arrests by Spain's National Police Force: Text - word for word (except the swearing!): "There is no world where this happens in Chicago, & the Chief, & the Mayor aren't out there talking about it to make a statement & take questions about what they know. Yeah, you'd have seen Brandon Johnson (CHI mayor) Saturday afternoon, & probably a second time since." It's different in Toronto, I told him. Embarrassing, but different.

This is exactly what I'm wondering. It's more my own curiousity than a major statement. And it did happen a ton w/ artists playing Copps from, say, 1988-1996, or so.
@gregbradyx There’s something to note with regards to geography and population density. Smashing Pumpkins are going to attract some southwestern Ontario audiences that won’t go to Toronto to see them. Smart actually.

3 Toronto cops arrested in Barcelona for allegations of sexual assault, assault, & various levels of fleeing a crime & resisting arrest: Officer 1 - accused of fleeing, resisting arrest, assaulting an authority figure Officer 2 - accused of inappropriate touching (assault) of a woman, "sexual assault without penetration" Officer 3 - accused of punching the woman, fleeing crime scene, apprehended after being missing for 48 hours by Spanish National Police (they have two branches - the one that caught this officer is called "Guardia Civil" - more responsible for border protection/highways/maritime police All the above details are via a newspaper called Ara, published in Barcelona. A few less details (so far) in Toronto/Canadian media - except for the one officer who's returned has been suspended, and the other two will be when they get back to Canada. Worth noting Toronto Police Services didn't inform anyone of this happening until after the Spanish newspaper published the story Saturday. TPS' first admission of this was earlier today.

Hamilton gets another huge show Toronto doesn’t. This is about the 4th time this has happened since TD Coliseum reopened as a state-of-the-art arena. It happened with Journey just a few months ago, also. It’s very interesting - Copps Coliseum late 80s/early 90s definitely drew shows away from Maple Leaf Gardens (this is even pre-Molson Amphitheatre (opened 1995). But Scotiabank Arena is still top-notch & fantastic. I’ll ask people in the concert promotion business but it’s very interesting. I don’t think it’s a “Toronto decline” thing but something’s up.

Easily amongst the best 3 Sunday nights of the calendar year: Sunday before Victoria Day Sunday before Labour Day Sunday before Thanksgiving. (Sunday before Memorial Day for our 🇺🇸 friends) I’ve worked many of those weekends (OHL PBP, covering Red Wings or Pistons playoffs) but when you are in your home & you’re sleeping in the Monday of a school or work week - pretty great. Enjoy your night!

All I see is the following: “Tough to lose Pridham. Not sure how they replace him. Salary Cap Wizard!” OK. Can you think of an NHL team that paid 4 players over $45M AAV that accomplished less ever in the sport? Me neither. Now, can you think of a team that was forced to either trade very good value players or watch them walk for nothing because there was no space? Me neither. Now, can you think of a team that had to either manipulate LTIR to be cap-compliant or trade valuable draft capital to take on bad contracts? Again, me neither. I think this isn’t a dark day in Leafs history.

This is good journalism. The value for the Americans is obvious. Their dollar crushes ours, & isn’t in jeopardy of slippage with our current federal government. Facts: 1. The 🇨🇦 $ hasn’t been even at 83 cents since 2014 - an unprecedented thing in comparison to the 1970s thru 2010. 2. The 🇨🇦 $ hasn’t even flirted w/ 80 cents for close to 4 1/2 years now. Very early in ‘22 - it was there for a few days. 3. 🇨🇦’s purchasing power ebbs & flows w/ the $’s strength. We all have surfed those waves - but for the last several years, it isn’t even a conversation anymore that we might see more strength w/ our currency. It’s never discussed. 4. How do you build “the strongest economy in the G7”, when you have, arguably, its weakest currency? Not a question the PM will ever answer directly.

There was a time in my career when my world revolved around going after the worst pimps and human traffickers abusing young women and children. For years, nothing else mattered except holding those responsible to account. Along the way, I lost relationships. I made mistakes. No one came before the mission. You try to influence the next generation of investigators to carry the work forward and do better than you did. After many years, I needed to step away psychologically. If you have ever pushed human trafficking cases through the courts, watched survivors and young people testify, and watched them be cross examined in ways that can feel cruel and devastating, you understand the impact it has on you as a police officer and as a human being. It is one area of policing that changes you forever. All police officers carry heaviness. All people do. Police leaders are no different. A few nights ago, my good friend and I grabbed late night Asian food. Just a regular cowboy and a typical Asian guy in jeans and T shirts testing our spice levels late at night. Without even realizing the impact, @paulbrandt challenged me to step back into the fight in a different way. The mental break was over. Thank you, Paul, for everything you continue to do for survivors and vulnerable people across this country. You have my commitment. And I am fortunate to have an incredible team of investigators in London carrying this work forward every day. Stay tuned. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth# #humantrafficking# #NotInMyCity#
