Einstein's general relativity is the closest thing we have to a perfect theory.
You start by asking why your flight path seems to bend toward the north pole — and before long you've reconceptualized nature's most familiar force, with consequences not just for falling apples and orbiting planets but for the origin and fate of the universe.
And it's all true!
