Recommending a transmission flush at 30k miles because that's what the menu says isn't a solid strategy. Nolan Armpriester, General Manager at Twin Pine Ford of Hamburg, says menu-based service recommendations are becoming a liability as factory service intervals have shifted dramatically over the last decade. OEMs pushed extended maintenance windows to advertise lower ownership costs, and the result is that intervals on identical parts now stretch anywhere from 30,000 to 150,000 miles depending on the vehicle. Armpriester joins the show to explain why that gap is creating real problems in the service lane.
