I spent six or seven years chasing things that were never going to work.
I had a dropshipping store, I was selling stickers, I did Amazon to eBay arbitrage. I was a budding electronic DJ for a while, and I got to DJ in seven countries. Then I started putting on my own nightclub events.
I worked hard at all of them. But most had a ceiling built in from day one. Big money needed up front, thin margins, or only so far you could ever take it.
Warren Buffett has a line about this that I think about a lot. It's not about how hard you row, it's about which river you're in.
And I'd been rowing hard in rivers that didn't go anywhere.
YouTube turned out to be my river. You don't need money to start, and there's no cap on where it goes. What it costs you is time, and all the mistakes you make while you're working out what does and doesn't work.
And that's the part I'd shortcut if I could go back. I got a lot wrong for a long time before it started paying.
Since then it's been 100 million plus views across the channels we've worked on, clients hitting $100,000 months, and my own channel doing months of over $10,000 as a side gig.
So I've put everything I know into an 8-week course on how to grow and monetise a YouTube channel, so you don't have to lose the same years I did. There's homework every week, so by the end you've got 5 videos out.
