Hangzhou#, the provincial capital of Zhejiang Province, is among China’s first batch of national historical and cultural cities and one of the Seven Ancient Capitals of China. It has long been known as "A Distinguished Prefecture in the Southeast" and "Paradise on Earth". Bordered by the residual ridges of the Tianmu Mountains to the west and the Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou Plain to the east, the city is traversed by the Qiantang River with West Lake embedded within its urban area. It features four distinct seasons suitable for tourism, boasts a sound comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, and bears profound historical and cultural heritage accumulated over thousands of years.
