ALERT: Florida teen victim who was robbed at gunpoint arrested after police find deleted texts showing he was trying to buy a firearm while on probation.
Last month, a 16-year-old contacted the Volusia County Sheriff's Office after he met up with a 15-year-old acquaintance, Izrell Perez, and was robbed of cash at gunpoint.
The driver of the car, 18-year-old Clayton Hencken, and Perez were arrested for robbery with a firearm.
The 16-year-old victim, however, was also arrested after detectives found he had deleted text messages to hide that he was trying to purchase a firearm from Perez and Hencken.
The father of the victim was also arrested while picking up his son from the Family Resource Center for having an open warrant.
