After 9/11, DOJ created the Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council to close the dangerous intelligence-sharing gaps exposed by the attacks. Its 29-member interagency team helps the FBI and our law enforcement partners coordinate responses, establish critical standards, and share lifesaving criminal intelligence. The Biden administration allowed this critical charter to expire in 2024—leaving funding authorized by Congress for FY26 unusable and significantly hampering law enforcement operations. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are backing the blue and fixing the failures of the previous administration. Today, thanks to Attorney General Todd Blanche’s decisive leadership, the new CICC charter is officially signed. Law enforcement asked for help, and AG Blanche delivered.
