74th Governor of Virginia Glenn Youngkin(@GovernorVA74):CHART OF THE DAY: Virginia’s Employment Commission was once ranked last or near-last in the nation — broken systems, delayed payments, and failing Virginians. Today: a complete turnaround. • Top tier among peer states with similar workforce sizes • #1 among peer states in Determinations Timeliness • #2 in Determinations vs. neighboring states • #3 among peer states in First Payment Timeliness • Outperforming states like PA, NC, and MD • Backlog completely eliminated! We promised to fix the VEC and make this critical agency work for Virginians. Thank you to Secretary Bryan Slater, our two outstanding commissioners, Carrie Roth and Mitch Melis, and their entire teams for their tireless effort.
