The IFAB, which governs the rules of the game, has issued a statement on the misuse of VAR during the World Cup in favor of Argentina. Messi got the semifinal spot, Switzerland got an apology. VAR is not fit for purpose as having a system that can be applied sporadically is insane. They hide behind it too…can’t act as referee saw it etc. Then other times they will take 10 minutes drawing lines and guessing to get the outcome they want. Would prefer they just had a one challenge card for the manager, let the refs actually ref and make a call and if you don’t like it, there’s your review…what do you want us to look at?
