THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE…
8% US mortgage rates are “not an impossibility,” per MarketWatch.
At 8%, a $500,000 mortgage over 30 years would cost roughly $3,669/month in principal and interest.
That’s $44,000 a year BEFORE property taxes, insurance and maintenance.
I wouldn’t buy a house that only works financially if I can refinance into a cheaper mortgage later.
