天皇陛下、ようこそ Welcome, Your Majesty Emperor Naruhito 🇯🇵
Bilateral ties between the Netherlands and Japan are close, with deep historical roots dating back 426 years. This week, Emperor Naruhito, accompanied by Empress Masako, is paying a state visit to our country. This morning, the imperial couple was officially welcomed on Dam Square by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, after which I joined the Emperor in a wreath-laying ceremony at the National Monument.
This evening I will be attending the traditional state banquet at the Palace on Dam Square, and tomorrow I will host the Emperor for lunch at the Mauritshuis art museum.
