I think the media covers the face of an 'alleged' criminal not because they’re trying to protect the person, but because there are legal and ethical consequences to publicly identifying someone who hasn’t been convicted. A person can be accused of something horrible and still be legally innocent until proven guilty. Also, revealing their identity could interfere with or alter an ongoing investigation, especially if the authorities are still gathering evidence or looking for other people connected to the case. I’m not a legal professional, but that’s just how I understand it.

Why are their faces hidden ? Why’s our first instinct to protect evil doers??
