Disarming Hamas isn’t just good for Israel. It’s also the path to a terror free Gaza for Palestinians. Everyone should want it to succeed.
NEW: President Trump announces that the Board of Peace has reached what he called a "historic agreement" for the "complete disarmament" of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza.
Trump said the agreement would be carried out in phases, with Hamas disarming, Israeli forces eventually withdrawing and a new Palestinian government taking over governance in Gaza.
Trump called the deal "a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY" and said the threat that emerged from Gaza on Oct. 7 "will NOT be allowed to rebuild."
