The Arab quarter of Zabut, corresponding to present-day Sambuca di Sicilia, 🇮🇹 originates from the Emir of Trapani, Ibn Mankud, around 1050 during the Fatimid period. This attribution, passed down through local tradition, is corroborated by the geographer al-Idrisi in the 12th c.
