After Sekhar’s father developed frontal lobe dementia, he realized that could be him one day, and he didn’t want his own care to be a future burden for his husband Jim.
With help from ChatGPT and Codex, he and founding volunteer Katie Brandt built Foreguard— a free tool that helps families claim public benefits they’re already entitled to, and plan ahead with private insurance including life, disability, and long-term care coverage tailored to their family history.
On the planning side, Foreguard shows how even modest budgets of $100 a month can create millions of dollars of day-one financial protection.
For Sekhar the goal is simple: help families prepare earlier, with more clarity, before care decisions become urgent.
