Some advice from personal experience building protocols and working at a crypto company: If you’re building with Uniswap v4 hooks, don’t build core token functionality that breaks when your token is listed on centralized exchanges. You’re limiting your ability to scale. If the core value of your protocol only exists inside v4 hooks, you’ll never reach the 99% of crypto traders that interact through CEXs. v4 hooks are infrastructure, not the entire product. They don’t make a protocol valuable on their own. For example, we plan to use v4 hooks in our decentralized options exchange on Robinhood Chain, not to apply a token trading tax, but to let LPs earn both swap fees and option premiums by selling covered calls and cash secured puts on their stock tokens. Those option positions will mint as transferable NFTs, making the positions themselves tradeable.
