Blizzard is handing over Overwatch’s PC publishing rights in South Korea to Nexon, with the change taking effect on August 12.
From that date, Nexon will manage the game’s live service in South Korea, including player support, local events, and regional content.
Blizzard will continue developing Overwatch and will retain full ownership of the game and its IP.
Nexon CEO Junghun Lee said the company has been working closely with Blizzard and wants to deliver “best-in-class live operations and hyperlocalization” for Korean players.
He also said the partnership is about “creating the best possible Overwatch experience” in South Korea.
