With the genocide now over, they remain homeless and without steady income amid sharply inflated prices for essentials. The family struggles to afford weekly medical treatments costing $200 for their injuries, proper nutrition and diapers for the youngest child, warm clothing and blankets for the approaching winter, and materials to improve or replace their inadequate tent for better protection against cold, rain, and flooding. They also seek support to rent safer temporary housing, cover daily needs like food, and begin rebuilding a secure home, as they continue facing hunger, cold, and health challenges in their displaced situation.
