San Diego Police Department(@SanDiegoPD):At 11:43 a.m., we received the first 911 call reporting an active shooter at the Islamic Center of San Diego in the 7000 block of Eckstrom Ave. The first officers arrived in less than 4 minutes. Five people are deceased, including two male suspects, ages 17 and 19. Three victims were killed at the Islamic Center, including a security guard. At 11:52 a.m., we received another 911 call in the 7100 block of Salerno St. reporting the suspects had fired multiple rounds at a gardener. Officers later located the suspects in a vehicle in the 3800 block of Hatton St. There is no ongoing threat to the public. This remains an active investigation.
