I love this card, not only because it's sick but because it represents one of the most fundamental principles about printing compelling cards - getting the white plate right. Put simply - the white plate or white ink underprint layer feathers back the shiny foil. You usually want an opaque subject contrasted against a more shiny background, then spot elements with glints of foil showing through that refract and catch the light. Specifically at the 1 sec and 3 sec mark of the video you can see her eyes glinting in the light as the card turns. In the print and design process if you neglect the white ink layer you will get a card composition that's either very flat with little contrast / foil showing through. Or you will get a card that is overall very shiny and almost muddy, not pleasant to look at because the foil is too prominent. One cool fact about making this card is took a couple tries to get the eyes right. On the first prototype the eyes weren't catching the light correctly - so we went back to the printer and retested various opaque white levels, shown here in this prototype image.
