U.S. Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs(@US_SrAdvisorAF):Pleased to co-host the UNGA side event “International Support for Peace, Unity, and Prosperity in Libya” with Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan, alongside UN-SRSG Hanna Tetteh and partners from Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, KSA, Qatar, the UAE, and the UK. Libyans from east and west have made important progress on a unified budget, economic and security coordination, and a UN-facilitated electoral framework. Now is the time to build on this momentum by unifying Libya’s institutions, deepening security integration, and supporting a Libyan-led path toward national elections and lasting peace.
