August 2026 will be the hottest August in recorded history on Earth. Thus begins the next 12+ month streak of each new month being the hottest on record, driven by El Niño + climate change. August 2027 will likely be hotter than 2026. During the last El Niño in 2023–24, we went 13 straight months setting a new all-time record warm month. This year's El Niño is forecast to be nearly twice as strong. Buckle up.
