Norway and Iceland are the two most North Atlantic countries of the five. Their economies were historically built around highly valuable resources lying within nationally controlled waters — especially fish, and in Norway’s case oil and gas. That gave both countries something Sweden, Finland and Denmark lacked: the economic luxury of saying “No” due to Geography and Natural Resources. GEOGRAPHY MATTERS.
