🚨 ELON MUSK ON THE LONG-TERM PURPOSE OF EXPANDING INTO SPACE: "The sun is 99.86% of all the mass in the solar system. Earth is basically a tiny dust mote, a rounding error in the mass of the solar system." On what all that energy gets used for: "As you expand into space and harness more of the sun's power, you're gonna use it for a lot of digital intelligence. You're either gonna do computation or you're gonna shape atoms. There's gonna be a lot more digital thinking than shaping atoms." The ultimate goal: "A lot of the atom shaping itself will be for the purposes of building digital super intelligence and what I call creating a sentient sun. It may be that there are many sentient suns out there." "That would help us understand the nature of the universe and extend consciousness beyond our solar system. Maybe we'll find alien civilizations out there. Or we may find the long dead ruins of alien civilizations that had a really good run, like 10 million years."
