New York is rapidly becoming an unaffordable place to live. More and more residents are packing up to move elsewhere just so they can afford to exist. NY Gov Kathy Hochul continues with the same policies that are causing the issues, doubling down on policies that lead to higher taxes, higher electricity rates, more road tolls and more expensive groceries. The New York governors race is competitive this year. Bruce Blakeman is challenging Kath Hochul on the promise to make New York affordable again. As Nassau County Executive he eliminated $150 million in property taxes scheduled by his predecessor. Since Kathy Hochul because governor in 2022, utility rates have been raised 36 times. Electricity costs are up 58% since her climate law passed. New York has the 6th highest electricity rates in the USA. About 435,000 New Yorkers have moved from New York to other states since Hochul was elected in 2022. They are voting with their feet.
