Starlink is becoming major infrastructure for rural education across Latin America And the scale is getting huge: • 🇭🇳 Honduras — ~10,000 Starlink antennas planned across 8,000+ schools, reaching 640,000+ students • 🇦🇷 Argentina — 6,000 Starlink kits + 24 months of service for rural and isolated schools nationwide • 🇦🇷 Córdoba — ~1,300 schools connected • 🇦🇷 Neuquén — nearly 300 schools connected • 🇦🇷 Catamarca — 300 rural schools connected • 🇦🇷 Mendoza — 213 schools in the latest Starlink-backed deployment, following 255 earlier school connections • 🇦🇷 Chaco — 400 Starlink antennas planned for education, with 265 school sites already connected • 🇦🇷 Chubut — 120 Starlink antennas for schools, prioritizing remote and rural areas • 🇧🇴 Bolivia — ~4,500 antennas planned in the first national phase, including 1,000 for educational units across 86 municipalities in La Paz • 🇵🇾 Paraguay — 1,600 Starlink kits being deployed, with at least 508 schools already connected across the Oriental region and Chaco • 🇨🇴 Antioquia — 560 educational sites operating with Starlink • 🇨🇴 La Guajira — 19 Starlink antennas deployed across 7 remote educational sites • 🇧🇷 Paraná — Starlink deployed across 159 indigenous and quilombola schools • 🇧🇷 Mato Grosso — 100 remote schools in the first phase, with 83 already installed • 🇧🇷 Amapá — 22 indigenous schools connected • 🇧🇷 Amazon region — ~140 remote schools being connected, reaching around 14,000 students • 🇨🇱 Chile — Petorca alone is bringing satellite connectivity to 40 schools and educational centers as part of a wider 68-site connectivity program reaching 9,000+ students This is much bigger than people realize Across mountains, forests and isolated rural communities, building traditional terrestrial networks can take years and enormous infrastructure investment across communities spread over huge distances Starlink changes that equation A remote school can get high-speed internet without waiting for fiber and other terrestrial infrastructure to reach it first That means students who were physically isolated from the digital world can access online classrooms, educational platforms, research tools and information available in major cities Hundreds of thousands of students are already being reached And this rollout is still expanding Starlink is removing one of the biggest disadvantages of rural education: Location This is going to change a lot of lives
