When it comes to "Pacing AI," we have heard from the frontier labs, infrastructure companies, and politicians. But what about the enterprises adopting it? Our team @ETRnews interviewed 50 large-enterprise tech buyers, and nearly all want to see AI slow down, but not for the reasons you may think. Only 20% believe the slowdown has anything to do with safety while 40% want to see independent evaluators setting the base. Bottom line, enterprise can't keep up with the rate of change, and they largely don't trust the labs to keep their AI deployments safe. When Dario said we are only utilizing 5-10% of the power of current models, the enterprises tend to agree. And while the frontier is solving complicated math and science, the everyday use of AI for business workflows is still catching up.
